The department for Sociology and Social Anthropology at the CEU provides a short term teaching position in the upcoming winter and spring terms (Jan-June 2015) to teach introduction to research methods on MA level.
The course in question provides an introduction to qualitative and quantitative methods in Sociology and Social anthropology and should pay special attention to the combination and integration of the various approaches. It is pivotal to attempt to bridge the disciplines, accounting for the diverse background of our students. Experience in international academic teaching is essential, Anglophone / US experience is highly desired.
The course is a 4credit course (i.e. 4 hrs (200mins) /week). We can offer this position to both junior of senior applicants. It is possible to combine this with a second elective course on MA level, reflecting the candidate’s own research, which should fit with the overall departmental orientation.
This is a fixed term position with no possibility of renewal, starting Jan 2015 for six months. We are, looking at faculty who can also over supervision to MA students, during this time. Salary is competitive and depends on qualification.
