Claudio Sopranzetti wins the Society of Economic Anthropology 2024 Kate Browne Creativity in Research Award for his latest book The King of Bangkok.
The award recognizes scholars who demonstrate unusual creativity in the work of an original research project.
The committee found that The King of Bankok "not only showcases important themes in economic anthropology - linked to migration, economic restructuring, and flexibilization - but also shows evidence of the impact of the work and its contemporary relevance far beyond Thailand."
