Anjana John is a PhD research scholar at the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University (CEU), Vienna. Her PhD research focuses on understanding the network of state-led electricity distribution in India through the lens of its indigenous communities (in central India) as a means to examine power relationships between them and the state and to explore the scope of community negotiation and representation when it comes to indigenous communities in this relationship. Her academic interest areas include indigenous community rights, social inequality and discrimination, Politics of infrastructure expansion in developing countries and energy and development.
