The Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology is pleased to announce a new appointment: Ju Li is joining the department in September. Ju received her PhD in sociology at Binghamton University (US) in 2012. She brings an expertise on social history, labor, modern China, historical sociology, globalization, critical development studies, and life course. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled ‘All That Is Solid Melts into Air: An Exploration of the Transformation of Nanfang Steel, a Third-Front Enterprise in China’.
